From the legal perspective, IT workers are not consider as a professional because they are not licensed compared to other professions. If in case they commit a trouble they are not liable for any malpractice because they are not certified with their field.
I will consider myself as an IT professional because i graduated a four year computer course, and if you are a degree holder at any course you will be called as a professional. Considering that i am a computer graduate, I have been taken my accreditation exams, seminars, trainings , and workshops for me to be certified with my chosen field of studies.
